Apply appropriate methods and principles used in diagnosing pathological conditions
Explain the causes and processes of cell disorders
Explain the process of inflammation, wound healing and repair.

Module Content

Concepts in general pathology: Terminologies, branches of pathology, review of cell structure, cell division, classification of diseases, general causes of diseases and mechanisms of disease processes.

Methods and principles of diagnosis: aspects of pathology and methods of studying pathology.

Inflammation and healing: definition, pathogenesis, causes, types, tissue response to injury, outcomes of inflammation, types of wounds, mechanisms of wound healing, factors influencing wound healing and repair, complications of wound healing. Body aging process.
