This Module is designed to enabled the learner acquire basic knowledge and skills in computer aided drawing and utilize the computers to create and edit various design models 9.2

3. Draw different types of lines, circles

4. Create, Insert and Modify blocks

5. Perform hatching

6. Create different layers

Course Content

Module Content

Introduction to CAD; meaning of cad, a CAD system, basic activities of CAD system, work station of cad system, useful functions of cad system, advantages of CAD system.

Giving Auto Cad Commands: pull down menus, tool bars, cursor menu, command line, selection methods, basic drawing technique.

Drawing types of lines; the line tool, selecting or editing a line, construction line, rectangle line, polyline.

Drawing types of circles; centre radius, centre diameter, with 2 points, with 3 points, with tan tan radius, with tan tantan, arc, spline, ellipse.

Create, Insert and Modify Blocks; advantages of using blocks, how to make a block, inserting a block. Hatching; to hatch a shape, gradient, text on drawing, to create a table, formatting table layout. Creating Layers; properties, lock, colour.
